Greenhalloween.org was founded by a mom in 2006 who wanted a healthier (but still fun and authentic) experience for her two kids on Halloween than disposable costumes and decorations and bucketfulls of candy.

Working in conjunction with her local Whole Foods, hospital, and ParentMap Magazine, Corey Colwell-Lipson provides a web resource that focuses on helping the community throw Halloween festivities that are Kid Healthy, Planet Healthy and People Friendly (using products which were made with fair wages and safe work conditions). The site provides a variety of tips, goals, and creative ideas for parents, kids and teachers, as well as links to other e-sources, including:
