CEO speaking at WCA Meeting 2/24

I'll be speaking at the Wireless Communications Alliance meeting tomorrow Tuesday, February 24th. I'm going to talk about how Cellfire is changing the retail landscape both for retailers and consumers. The internet caused a major revolution in retail 10 years ago. We're now at the point where the mobile handset will do the same. These events have generated some good discussion-I'm looking forward to more of the same.

Cellfire trivia

Here are a few "did ya know" factoids about Cellfire:

  • While designing Cellfire, we tested it in one-on-one usability studies with a total of over 50 participants
  • For each retailer on Cellfire, you can also view the 2 or 3 closest store locations near your zip code. No texting and waiting, no web browsing. It's all stored on your phone.
  • Before we release a phone-specific version to the market, our brave QA team repeatedly opens and exits Cellfire over 20 times. It's like when car manufacturers have that robot sit on seats over and over again.
  • Cellfire uses a custom font, not the one built into your phone. This helps ensure that you'll get a good-looking, well laid out screen every time.
  • The download link Cellfire sends you is more than a text message: it's a smart download link. Click it the first time and it lets you download and install Cellfire. Click it again and the page behind it has "automagically" changed to display instructions on how to restart Cellfire from your phone's main menu. Good for people who forget where their phone stored Cellfire.
  • Cellfire maximizes your phone's limited storage space by storing coupons in tiny bite-size pieces.

Happy shopping, everyone!
